Hot off the heels of their official opening, HAUS Bali goes extra-large for NYE

After officially launching the stunning new Canggu-based venue this past weekend, HAUS by Neverland keeps the storm brewing into 2020 with a heavy-hitting line-up that comes from a Hong Kong-based label, SOUTA.

SOUTA. is a fresh, forward-thinking and intimate community-driven record label and event company created by the husband-wife power-duo of Carsten and Annabat Martens. This NYE will be their second event in Bali, and for good reason, as their first show was a roaring success, with label head honcho Carsten tearing apart Alternative Beach in Canggu just a few months ago.

“Sudden, sound of the wind” is what SOUTA means and stands for, comprised of a collective of like-minded music souls who equally partake in a growth process of enriching human interaction and uniting people through positive music. The label primarily focuses on house, afro-house and techno, and these styles get delivered very uniquely through their versatile roster which is culturally enriched through roots stemming from Germany, Italy, UK, USA and Asia.

The line-up for the New Year’s Eve showcase features label boss Carsten Martens from Germany, Loud // Off from Italy, Arun R from Hong Kong, Will Poole (Willer) from the UK and Devlar from USA, who is also a resident DJ at HAUS.

Doors open at 5.30pm with Arun R taking you through sunset and comfortably placing you in the crafty care of Loud // Off, a proud Roman-Italian who has built his musical roots in New York over the last twenty-odd years, being influenced by, and closely acquainted to, the to finest maestros from around the world to lay their mark on the imperial east-coast scene. Expect your journey into the second decade of the millennium to be power-boosted by the next two acts – HAUS’ resident Devlar and the energetic young-buck from the UK, Will Poole (Willer).

Will has only recently joined the regional DJ circuit, and has done so with a bang, quickly taking up bookings across Asia, and most recently and notably, at Wonderfruit in Thailand a few weeks ago. We hear he’s being banked on for SOUTA.’s first single release in early 2020. Without question, the versatile and analogue-driven Devlar will streamline that night early night setting, perfectly paving the way for young Poole to take you into the new year.

Label boss might be one term, but large-friendly-giant might be another to describe Carsten Martens, who is undoubtedly the perfect DJ you want to be piloting you into the wee hours. With a long career history that stems from the early days of Germany’s Love Parade, Carsten has been tearing up the scene in Hong Kong and now around South East Asia, also making his Wonderfruit debut at the Sing Sing stage, where we personally saw him deliver the best set of that stage from the five-day weekend. ‘Hands up’ if you caught him? The action around Carsten ventured from pure fist-pumping to absolute mind-f*ckery, we honestly wanted more of it.

We give three thumbs up for this uniquely regional line-up (all the SOUTA. DJs are based in Hong Kong and move around Asia frequently), that will take over NYE on HAUS by Neverland.

Do you like it THICK, BIG and SUDDEN? That is the meaning of SOUTA. and we have a hunch that this is what they’re going to deliver as you step your way into 2020 at the organically-industrial dance-floor of HAUS by Neverland.

The stunning new venue is fully loaded with a Martin Audio sound system, perfectly designed for aural intimacy and dance floor hedonism. Doors open at 5.30pm, you can wear whatever you want (no dress code nonsense), two-for-one signature cocktails from 7pm to 9pm, and pre-sale tickets are comfortably available here. What are you waiting for?

Line-up:
