Serato continues annual Pride campaign inspired by Larry Levan’s Paradise Garage

Serato has launched the second edition of Paradise, its annual Pride Month campaign hosted on Apple Music.

The campaign features three queer artists Boston Chery, Mike Taylor, and YO! MAFIA, each of whom has produced an original DJ mix and curated playlist drawn from their musical backgrounds, influences, and perspectives on the dancefloor.

Its name references Paradise Garage, the New York club that ran from 1977 to 1987 and played a formative role in the development of house music under the residency of DJ Larry Levan.

Levan held the residency for the club's entire run, building a devoted following among Black, brown, and queer communities in New York at a time when dedicated spaces for those communities were scarce.

His sets ranged widely (documented track selections include Donna Summer, Loleatta Holloway, Marshall Jefferson, David Bowie, and Prince) and his ability to read and move a crowd made him a lasting reference point for generations of DJs.

The documentary Larry's Garage, directed by Corrado Rizza and featuring testimonials from Louie Vega, François K, and Paul Oakenfold among others, remains one of the more comprehensive accounts of his legacy.

Paradise 2026 draws on that lineage with three contemporary artists.

Boston Chery is a Brooklyn-based DJ, producer, and label owner working across house, Rabòday, and ballroom, Mike Taylor is a Philadelphia-based DJ and vocalist who performs live alongside his sets, and YO! MAFIA is a Melbourne-based open-format DJ recognised for her technical precision and genre-bending sets.

Going beyond mixes and playlists, the campaign includes in-depth interviews with the artists, covering their musical lineage, identity, and what the dancefloor means to them.

This is the second consecutive year Serato has run the campaign; last year's inaugural edition featured TRYFE, KITTENS, and Zach Witness.
