Louie Vega to auction off rare items including test pressings, music gear, and more

Louie Vega is set to auction off a collection of personal items later this month via music platform Wax Poetics, including test pressings, music gear, and more.

It marks the second drop in the collection following an earlier auction in April, and features “even more pieces in Louie’s personal collection”, with items from his 40-year career.

The Louie Vega Collection will be available to bid on from May 27, but is open now for registration ahead of the official live launch later this month.

The collection features “rare and historic pieces” including a custom, one-of-ten, Louie Vega Diamond Pendant, made from 14K white gold with 290 natural black and white diamonds, signed by Louie himself. Its estimated value is around $8,500.

Other items listed include an Allen & Heath Xone V6 Mixer used by Louie on tour around the world, and a Roland FP-8 keyboard used on some of his seminal tracks, including ‘Beautiful People’.

The collection also includes test pressings and promo records, including a Masters at Work mix of Simply Red’s ‘Thrill Me’, and 50 pieces of original studio artwork.

“These items have been a part of my creative journey, have travelled the world with me, and what all my fans have been a part of for all these years,” he says. “I know these are going to go to a pure person that will really hold it in a special place just as I did. They are a part of my legacy."
