Korean group numnum triumphs as the winner of Vans Musicians Wanted 2020
They will represent Asia Pacific and share the stage with Anderson .Paak at next year’s House of Vans concert
Vans has finally announced numnum as the Asia-Pacific winner of the 2020 Musicians Wanted in the first-ever online concert held on December 9 2020. Over 4,000 viewers from all over the globe joined the stream alongside the judges’ panel that included Anderson .Paak, JID, Bohan Phoenix, Nilüfer Yanya, and Tierney Stout. All of the Asia-Pacific finalists put on compelling performances, including the Singapore-based hard-hitting rock group Ultra Mega Cat Attack, DJ and producer H4RDY from Seoul, Chinese underground hip-hop artists PurpleSoul, alternative rock duo Niko Niko Tan Tan from Japan, and the eventual winner, Seoul-based experimental rock group numnum.
Composed of three members, numnum’s performance was eclectic to say the least. Their set seamlessly drifted from psychedelica to experimental bliss to chaotic distortion layered with elements of fun.The chemistry between the three members is an exuberant example of how to strike a balance between eccentric vocals, powerful basslines, and special effects.
The group has been granted the grand prize including Vans’ products, Fender gear, one year of free and unlimited global music distribution from Spinnup, a music video produced by Universal Music Group, and the opportunity to share the stage with Vans Global Music Ambassador, Anderson .Paak.
