DJazz fuses acid house with Indian classical drones on latest EP ‘Pale Criminal’

DJazz returns with 'Pale Criminal', a three-track EP that layers hypnotic acid lines over the textured hum of Indian classical instrumentation.

It’s a bold and playful blend that pushes boundaries while keeping the dancefloor in focus. Don’t let the sinister artwork fool you—these are three no-frills, fun-first heaters.

Though this is only his second release as DJazz, Aditya Malve is no newcomer. Previously releasing under his own name and the alias DIVERSION AHEAD, his shift to DJazz marks a new chapter—one that coincides with the launch of his own imprint, All That DJazz.

The track, ‘The Music Just Turns Me’ is a nod to UK house, built around a rolling bassline and familiar vocal chops. It’s a slick blend that brings everything together in a tight, infectious groove.

Closing out the EP is a jazzy, percussive house cut laced with detuned synths and, surprisingly, a guitar solo that lands just right.

Our pick has to be the opener ‘Sinaptic’. A swirling Tanpura sets an atmospheric tone before a snarling acid line and heavyweight breaks take over. The track evolves steadily, constantly playing with its core elements, making it one you’ll keep coming back to.

The release comes less than two months after his last project, ‘The Wolf Amongst Dogs’, which shows a different side of the artist, with a focus on jungle breaks with saxophone samples, the legendary Amen break and harmonious synthesizers, making it worth a listen and making DJazz definitely one to keep an eye on.
