Vans x Anderson .Paak focus on family & community for their 2nd collab collection
The Grammy award winner is Global Music Ambassador for Vans Musicians Wanted
Continuing with what’s been an inspirational partnership with rap icon Anderson .Paak, action sports and streetwear brand Vans have just announced their second line of collaborative designs. The new line announcement comes in soon after Vans announced their APAC winners from their Musicians Wanted platform this year — those same winners will have the chance to share the final stage with the international rapper.
For his second collection with Vans, and as their appointed Global Music Ambassador, .Paak’s approach to the collection is a dedication to his family and community, as he took profound inspiration from his sons Soul Rasheed and Shine. Being an homage to family, the two shoe designs named after his sons also include kids and toddler sizing, and both carry signature green waffle soles, with green being the colour of creativity.
The second instalment of the Vans x Anderson .Paak collaboration reimagines the Old Skool canvas skate shoes in two fun and funky ways — Old Skool Soulito is fitted with corduroy features and cosy purple uppers whilst Old Skool Ziti takes on colour block treated uppers with fuzzy blue suede and uses multi-panel construction.
Above the soles, Vans x AP also offers a men’s reversible Chore Jacket comprising a dual look, a purple plaid and a solid canvas option, that aligns perfectly with the black corduroy collar and purple corduroy jacket. The cherry on top is the Vans x AP Bucket Hat — available in two complimenting colour-ways, the comfy headwear comes in purple plaid and a kelly-green terrycloth colour-way. The feel and texture of this collection is perfectly timely for those cosy moments at this time of year.
While we wait for the fresh capsule to drop, we’re also waiting on hearing about the results of the APAC finalists who made it through to the top finalists of Vans Musicians Wanted 2020. Stay tuned for more updates and info on the global finalists soon.
Vans x Anderson .Paak drops around the world on December 11, 2020.
