Connect for Cause brings climate action discussion to Earth Night 2026

EMC and Mixmag Asia will present Connect for Cause: An Online Earth Night Conversation about Climate Action on Thursday, April 23, as part of Earth Night, a global initiative led by DJs for Climate Action (DJs4CA).

Since 2011, DJs4CA has brought together artists and industry professionals to support climate-focused projects through events, campaigns and fundraising.

This upcoming online session brings together voices from across Australia and Asia for a focused discussion on climate action within electronic music.

Running from 6:00–7:15pm AEST (4:00-5:15pm HKT / 3:00–4:15pm ICT), it's free to attend with registration.

Framed around the question “how can the electronic music community take effective climate action regardless of scale or resources?”, the discussion will highlight practical approaches across touring, festivals, venues and grassroots initiatives.

The speaker line-up includes Anna Lunoe, a DJ and producer known for genre-spanning sets across techno, garage and bass music. Alongside her artistic output, she's developed initiatives such as her LO Waste series and sustainably produced merchandise, addressing the environmental impact of touring and production.

Halim Ardie, co-founder of Club Conscious, will contribute experience from Southeast Asia, where he works with artists and event organisers to implement lower-impact practices, including waste reduction and community-focused environmental programmes.

Also speaking at the session is Jane Slingo, Director of EMC, contributes a broad perspective shaped by more than 25 years across artist management, programming, touring and policy, with ongoing involvement in advisory and industry bodies.

Vicky Keeler, General Manager of Strawberry Fields Festival, will speak on managing a large-scale independent festival while embedding environmental considerations into its design and operations, from site management to audience engagement.

The session will be facilitated by Shivani Sharma, EMC’s Community Engagement Manager, with more speakers to be announced on a later date.

In support of Earth Night 2026, the session will also raise funds for DJs4CA and Green Music Australia.
