The Mixmag Lab makes its debut in Mongolia this month

The Mixmag Lab is coming to Mongolia for the very first time, teaming up with Kharkhorum Festival to bring together local heroes and regional legends for one unmissable session.

Mongolia scene has grown fast in recent years, and it's quietly become a draw for ravers travelling in from abroad.

Proof is in the many local festivals that have attracted attendees (Playtime Festival, Intro Festival), including the upcoming brand-new Kharkhorum Festival.

This debut Mixmag Lab session in Central Asia brings together artists shaping the sound of Mongolia's underground alongside international selectors making the trip in.

Now, the music purveyors soundtracking the night.

Widely considered an early pioneer of house and techno in the country, Biliguudei is an alumni of The Electronic Music School Berlin and has performed at ADE, Wonderfruit, Savage, Social Room, Stockholm's Bronx Bastun and much more. Music-wise, you can expect a more leftfield side of his repertoire, from percussion-driven techno, serene house, cosmic breaks, and plenty in between.

Next is one that many would consider one of Asia’s most underrated selectors. Gonno is one of those “if you know you know” DJs, who never fails to disappoint. Hailing from Japan, but making his mark in all corners of Asia and beyond, he’s collected cosigns from legends like Ben UFO and graced just about every stage worth mentioning.

CMT is known as having a deep understanding, knowledge and depth to his approach to sound. His sets are known to be storytelling at its finest; another Japanese artist pushing the boundaries of sonic experimentation.

Anu Dol strengthens the lineup with a fresh perspective as part of the city’s new generation of DJs. Just listen to any of her sets and you’ll see why.

Known for intimate DJ sets streamed to millions around the world, The Mixmag Lab has hosted global icons like Carl Cox, Peggy Gou, Solomun and Charlotte de Witte since launching in 2012.

It's become one of the world's most-watched DJ booths and has recently stopped by Dhaka, Bali, Hong Kong, and Jakarta. On July 24, it lands in the country they call the Land of the Eternal Blue Sky.

Once in a while, we take the Mixmag Lab out of the office and into wild and new settings. For The Mixmag Lab Mongolia, the famous yurts of the Gobi Desert will be the setting for this special night in Ulaanbaatar.
