Creamfields Thailand teams up with WIRTUAL & wants to see you ‘Sweat Mining’

Earlier last month, the official press conference of Creamfields Thailand 2022 took place, announcing that the UK-founded dance music festival will be taking place on May 28-29 2022. Creamfields’ Thai debut also marks its 25th anniversary, along with another first for the festival; a way to make money while partying.

Creamfields Thailand collaborates with local tech start-up WIRTUAL allowing attendees to ‘Dance to Earn’; simply put on those smartwatches, dance along to your favourite DJ performances and gain real-life rewards.

Known as ‘Sweat Mining’, the app offers challenges based on different types of exercises; from running, cycling, swimming, weightlifting and (thankfully for us) dancing. According to their website, this makes it “a new way to mine for cryptocurrency that is affordable and easily accessible to anyone.

Leading up to the event, WIRTUAL has also granted the purchasing of Creamfields Thailand Early Bird tickets through this model, along with in-app items said to increase effectiveness while working out.

Creamfields Thailand is coming up this weekend and is co-hosted by the Tourism Authority of Thailand along with the Chonburi Provincial Administrative Organization. Big names in its line-up include R3HAB and Fedde Le Grande.

For two whole days of dancing, festival visitors can obtain WIRTUAL coins for buying physical items from the WIRTUAL shop, receive coupons from sponsors, and even purchase NFTs. The coins can even be traded with other crypto coins on the market.

Having just launched in March this year, WIRTUAL already boasts 50,000 weekly active users from over 150 countries, with Thailand encompassing around 40-50% of that number.

At the festival’s press conference in early April, Aanant Sony, co-founder of WIRTUAL announced that “WIRTUAL is proud to partner with the global EDM event and enter the world of blockchain,” further assuring that “every Creamfields dance will not be in vain.”
