Voigtmann journeys across musical dimensions for sophomore album ‘Life Miles’
“This album is a proud snapshot in time of my abilities as a producer, a snapshot of my mood and sound.”
Toi.Toi.Musik co-founder and Subsequent label head Voigtmann drops his sophomore album ‘Life Miles’ on November 27 via Ralph Lawson’s 20/20 Vision Recordings.
Having bagged a fabric residency and garnered support from the likes of Craig Richards, Ricardo Villalobos and Sonja Moonear, Londoner Claus Voigtmann continues to amaze on the upcoming release, giving us a taste into his fiercely innovative sets that overflow with a plethora sonic landscapes.
Comprising nine tracks, the album shows the artist’s multifaceted approach to music, incorporating lower-tempo dub and ambient productions into the line-up, in contrast to but at the same time complementing his more beats-heavy, dancefloor-ready cuts.
'Life Miles' encapsulates Voigtmann's current reflection on his journey and anticipation for new sonic ventures.

“For me to create a real album is to strike a fragile balance between restraint and out-of-your-comfort zone, club and home listening. This album is a proud snapshot in time of my abilities as a producer, a snapshot of my mood and sound,” says Voigtmann.

From the energetic kick, playful snares and low synth wobbles of opening track ‘Pinfire’, the intricately-layered melodious synthplay and killer bass of ‘Abundance’ to the elegantly slowed-down tempo and hypnotic, swirling sounds of ‘Headlong’ that closes out the release, it’s clear Voigtmann has placed an immense amount of attention and care into crafting an immersive aural journey for his listeners.
