Rainbow Disco Club brings its day-to-night format to Singapore for the first time

Rainbow Disco Club has announced the line-up for its first Singapore edition, set to take place on October 3-4.

The festival built its reputation through a consistently sold-out annual event in Izu, Japan, and has since staged international takeovers in Bali, Melbourne, Amsterdam, Lisbon and Paris.

Singapore now marks its first stop in the city, co-organised with local party series Ice Cream Sundays.

“Within the community of promoters, artists, and punters in Singapore, there's a sizeable contingent who have attended RDC's main festival in Japan and rave about it, so we're feeling a palpable buzz online and within our circles,” explain the local crew.

They also point to the opportunity to platform homegrown talent alongside the international names on the line-up: “We have some incredible DJs and electronic musicians in Singapore, and we're really proud for them to be playing on an RDC lineup alongside the international heavy-hitters.”

The weekend unfolds across three sessions, a structure Ice Cream Sundays says mirrors the layout of RDC's flagship event: “Their open-air main stage starts early in the daytime and ends pretty early in the night, while their indoor stage kicks on slightly later into the wee hours. We wanted to echo that experience here, balancing the brighter, daytime oriented sounds at the outdoor venue with the darker music of the night programme indoors.”

The open-air Day Session opens the weekend on Saturday from 1PM to 10:15PM at Tanjong Pagar Distripark's block 39 carpark, featuring a live set from Kuniyuki and a DJ set from Rush Hour Records founder Antal, alongside Darker Than Wax's Daryl Knows and Ice Cream Sundays resident Muto.

The Night Session then moves upstairs to Cargo39, where DJ Nobu and Xiaolin play from 10PM to 3AM.

Sunday closes out the festival with a Recovery Session at RASA from 4PM to 8PM, featuring a three-way ambient live set from Kuniyuki, Xiaolin and Kin Leonn, performing together for the first time, plus a set from Kindergarchy.

“The recovery session was fully inspired by Kuniyuki and Wata Igarashi's 'The Melting Hours' live set on the Sunday morning of RDC this year. It was a magical performance—gentle, ephemeral and oh so masterful,” Ice Cream Sundays share.
