Xiaolin is set to drop her latest sonic gem, ‘BLESSYOU026’ on September 13 via Sound Metaphors’ sub-label, Bless You.

Known for crafting dreamy, acid-laced soundscapes, Xiaolin's new release is the second in her Moods of Love trilogy, a series paying homage to '80s Cantonese classics.

This time, she reimagines Prudence Liew's '事後 Afterwards', following the massive success of her ‘Plastic Love’ cover, which saw 1,000 copies sold out at the distributor for its first release, leaving just a few left online on the Sound Metaphors site, and a hefty backorder from Japan.

The release opens with a signature Xiaolin Vocal Mix that spotlights her effortlessly smooth vocals with Eric Lau on mixing duties, followed by an instrumental Heartbreak Dub version complete with sultry synths and a scintillating percussion line.

Tornado Wallace’s remix brings on the breezy Balearic vibes for his rendition of the track, while Androo’s reinterpretation leans more on the melodically emotive side with its soft piano that ebbs and flows throughout.

On the same day as the release, Xiaolin is set to make her Panorama Bar debut. Part of Sound Metaphors' epic ninth-anniversary takeover of Berghain, this performance isn’t just a gig—it’s a cultural moment.

“It is a very important and meaningful moment personally as not only is it a Panorama Bar debut, but also a live set featuring mainly Cantonese music from the 80s, with live vocal and instruments. It’s a way to really share and introduce this kind of music and Hong Kong culture to the Berlin community as well,” she mentions to Mixmag Asia.

Sound Metaphors’ anniversary celebration is the perfect setting for Xiaolin’s bold artistic statement, with a stellar line-up featuring Jane Fitz, Vladimir Ivkovic, PLO Man, Carlos Souffront, Bell Towers, Abnama, David Fogarty, Temple Rat, Dexter LX, C3D-E, Hashman Deejay, Coco Maria, and, of course, the Sound Metaphors crew.
