Mixmag Asia’s Standout Snaps of 2025
Revisit the moments that shaped 2025, which were anything but quiet
Scrolling through the numerous stories on Mixmag Asia's site and socials from this year, you’ll see that the images accompanying them capture more than DJ sets and dancefloors; they open small windows into a growing, interconnected electronic music ecosystem across Asia and the diaspora.
Each frame feels like a doorway into a scene that’s lively, ever-shifting, and full of the characters who keep it all moving.
Some shots pull you right into the heat of it all: smiling faces dancing on sandy dancefloors, waacking sets and anime cosplaying on the floor, a four-day party series whose images exude energy…
Then there are the quieter frames: DJs introspectively picking out tracks behind the booth, a serene calm-before-the-storm shot of a stage before the crowd arrives, a tribute to one of the best to come out of Japan.
Of course there’s also snaps from The Mixmag Lab sessions that tell a story across cities. You can feel the intimacy and charged-up energy of Dhaka’s warehouse session, with people in the crowd leaning into every drop. Hong Kong was all about the energy with a massive two-day line-up. and And Bali with Theo Parrish’s 3,5-hour set? The pictures speak for themselves.
Across all these cities and spaces, you see not just parties, but a network of artists, dancers, and communities (the literal moves and shakers) feeding into one another and strengthening the culture we care about.
These may be our Standout Snaps, but they read more like open invitations to revisit the moments that shaped 2025, which were anything but quiet.
