Who you’ll be dancing to at The Mixmag Lab Hong Kong

30 artists, 9 internationals, 2 days, 1 venue; here’s the breakdown for The Lab’s highly anticipated Hong Kong debut

The Mixmag Lab is coming to Hong Kong for the first time in a two-day takeover on the iconic harbour front in partnership with Mixmag Asia and Umami.

From LA to Leeds and Delhi to Dhaka, the Lab series is celebrated for pushing boundaries and careers through sharing club cultures and experiences from all corners of the globe. . Popularly known for intimate DJ sets streamed to millions, The Lab has hosted global icons like Carl Cox, Peggy Gou, Solomun and Charlotte de Witte.

Launched in 2012, it has become one of the world’s most-watched DJ booths, with the most recent Mixmag Asia collaboration happening in Dhaka.

Across the two-day programme (August 23–24), a curated roster of selectors from around the world will take centre stage. Among them, a number of international heavyweights.

Skeptic
A key figure in the UK scene and beyond, making him perfect for the Hong Kong dancefloor with his 4x4, garage, bassline and beyond.

Prozak
This Ireland-based artist is yet another floor filler over in Europe. Rooted in UKG, he weaves all facets of the UK sound masterfully with his signature eclectic style.

Soul Mass Transit System
For those tapped in with garage and more, this is a name familiar to most, with an unwavering blend of 2-step, 4x4, speed garage, breaks and bassline, plus tinges of dubstep and house.

All three are part of the rising wave of genre-bending DJs taking on bass, breaks, techno - all rooted in British rave culture.

Club Angel
Rising through the ranks across Australia, Europe, and beyond, bringing a heavy dose of 2-step, driving basslines and non-stop infectious energy.

Bianca Oblivion
This artist has been making her presence known all over the globe; expect her high-octane, global fusion of club styles, from UK bass, baile, jersey club, grime, footwork and much, much more.

LB AKA LABAT
The French mainstay blends just about anything under the sun, be that in his live or DJ sets, which makes for an unexpected set on the night.

Hong Kong thrives on collectives and communities, and to celebrate that, the line-up also spotlights the array of standout local talent the city has to offer.

Representing Hong Kong: Caine Co., Eugene b2b WHOSSEANY, Gargoyle Girlfriend, Saint Bernard, Tom Yeti, Arthur Yeti, DJ FU b2b Immuno, Lovely, Abyss, a b3b from Just Bee, Mengzy and Subez Yeti, collective takeovers from Yee. and S2, plus a closing set from veterans Magnetic Soul.

We’re also spotlighting talent from across the region, starting with Japan’s Stones Taro. A breakout force across Asia and Europe, he steps up for sunset duties on the Saturday with his UK-inspired breaks and house.

On Sunday, expect a standout b2b set from regional heavyweights Emel Rowe and Saint Guel; mainstays on Asia’s festival circuit, known for their eclectic, joy-fuelled take on house music.

A venue worthy of this line-up is essential, and where better than pier 1929. Situated directly on Hong Kong’s iconic harbourfront, the expansive space offers sweeping views of the water and truly authentic Hong Kong scenery.

The Mixmag Lab comes together in collaboration with Umami, one of the city’s most ambitious crews. Known for having a sharp ear for UK-driven sounds, their past showcases have brought the likes of Interplanetary Criminal, Sam Alfred, Flowdan, Y U QT, Messie, Crybaby, Manuka Honey, Nash, Conducta and many more.

While international names may draw the spotlight, the true essence of Umami lies in its dedication to the local scene; championing homegrown talent, emerging artists, and anyone in search of a refined, high-energy night out.
