Logic Lost’s ‘Insurgents’ is a ferocious glimpse into forthcoming LP ‘Disposable Gods’

Jakarta’s experimental mainstay Dylan Amirio aka Logic Lost has released ‘Insurgents’; the first single from his forthcoming album ‘Disposable Gods’, out November 28 via Bristol-based imprint Avon Terror Corps.

The track features Rully Shabara of Senyawa, whose visceral performance channels the volatile spark of revolt. It’s an apt entry point into an album steeped in the cyclical dynamics of power, domination, and resistance.

“Within the culture of impunity that the powerful have cultivated, maintaining power is an art of itself. It is the art of exploiting the basic instincts of fear, greed, envy, and othering to form power structures that appeal to benefit some and exclude the rest,” explains Amirio on the album's overarching theme.

Crafted over three years, ‘Disposable Gods’ marks Logic Lost’s fourth album, following 2022’s ‘Degenerates’ and weaves together elements of metal, techno, and noise.

‘Insurgents’ feels like a breaking point. Distorted synths grind against heavy, warlike percussion, along with Shabara’s raw, shape-shifting vocals ranging from guttural, percussive chants to a full, cathartic shout by the track’s end. Beneath the chaos, Logic Lost’s production fuses drone, industrial techno, and digital hardcore into a sound that’s both punishing and meticulously controlled.

The result is an apocalyptic, galvanising soundscape that feels both primal and immediate, echoing the revolutionary pulse currently coursing through parts of Asia.

Across the region, protests and political reckonings continue to shape social consciousness, and Logic Lost mirrors that energy through noise, distortion, and intensity.

Featuring collaborations with key names in Indonesia’s experimental and metal scenes, upcoming album ‘Disposable Gods’ stands as a potent reflection on uprising and endurance.

Or, as Amirio shares with Mixmag Asia: "Always question your so-called leaders. More likely than not, they do not have your best interests in mind."
