International DJs show support for China's fight against the coronavirus

As the world knows, China has been engaged in a war against the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outbreak. To lend support for the people fighting the virus in China, the international DJ community – who tour often in China – have shown their support through shoutout IDs or digital posts, while others have donated much-needed supplies like masks. Big name EDM DJs make huge money touring in China, and often have millions of fans so it’s good to see the dance music community giving back and showing support during this time, especially with so many festivals and club dates cancelled.

In early February, Spinnin’ Records released a video including KSHMR, Lucas & Steve, Sam Feldt, Tony Junior, Garmiani and some Asian artists from its new imprint Spinnin' Records Asia, like BEAUZ and 22 Bullets, that hit its China channels with a supportive message like 'stay strong, China, we are with you'.

From France, DJ Snake posted a photo of a Paris Saint-Germain jersey with the phrase ‘中国加油 (Stay Strong, China)’ on his IG to deliver his caring message to China.

Another story of goodwill involved Italian DJ duo VINAI donating masks to a specific hospital in Wuhan, China – the epicentre of the virus, where the largest numbers of infected patients live. They also posted on IG to express their sadness about the situation and support the people who are fighting against the virus. These acts of thoughtfulness and goodwill will surely endear these artists to their fans even more, and hopefully give some hope and cheer to the embattled dance music community in China.
