Ecilo charts a cosmic ritual on ‘Interstellar Shaman’
A journey from ambient suspense to pounding galactic grooves, out May 9 via Voyager UK

Indonesian techno mainstay Ecilo returns with ‘Interstellar Shaman’, a bold, sci-fi-infused album released on Voyager UK.
Spread across 8 tracks on vinyl and 2 bonus digital exclusives, the album is built with analogue gear like the RD-9 Drum Machine, Behringer DeepMind, and Erica Synths SYNTRX, blending intergalactic atmospheres with raw, percussive energy.
The mythic narrative of a shaman lost in psychedelic dimensions underpins the album’s sound design; it’s intense, hypnotic, and unapologetically interstellar.
‘Taken’ opens the journey with a minimal, atmospheric feel, before ‘Betty’s Dreams’ picks up with sharp synth work. The title track delivers tight, forward-driving energy, and ‘Signal Lost on Proxima’ closes things on a more introspective (yet eerily disorderly) note.

“This release is more conceptual—it’s an album, after all. Unlike my previous EPs, which focused on standalone singles, this one has a continuous flow from track to track,” Ecilo shares with Mixmag Asia.

With ‘Interstellar Shaman’, Ecilo channels a sound that's both spiritual and club-ready, already backed by heavyweights like DVS1, Richie Hawtin, and Ben Sims.
‘Interstellar Shaman’ drops May 9, pre-order here.
