Vell delivers a diverse & expressive EP, ‘Floating Mists, Warm Vistas’

‘Floating Mists, Warm Vistas’ is a dynamic, expansive release from Boiled Wonderland Records co-founder Vell, featuring an engaging, broad and eclectic selection of techno, breaks and bass from Thailand. It also marks his debut EP with the label.

The EP melds many moods, with the energetic, all-be-it-strange opener laced with dystopian synths, the ethereal mushroom-friendly and hypnotic second track, the saxophone heavy rolling closer and the fantastic breaks remix from Dubai-based Rudoh. High-octane grooves, otherworldly synths and impressive track developments throughout — it has the works.

Vell's experience as a live musician shines through in 'Burning Trees,' which starts out with the incredibly ethereal, almost heavenly silky live-looped saxophone parts until the halfway mark when the synths and breaks take over, completely transforming the track into a much grander display.

Rudoh’s remix of 'Burning Trees' has a different approach to breaks that's just as engaging. In it, he brilliantly demonstrates his adroitness as a beat shaper, expertly manipulating and dissecting breakbeats while seamlessly infusing fresh vocal samples, making the cut a must-listen for devoted electronic music aficionados.

With roots in the UK and a current base in Bangkok, Vell's deep connection to the city's vibrant electronic music scene shines through his co-founding of Boiled Wonderland Records and Bangkok Community Radio. He’s also known as a multi-instrumentalist, often incorporating a plethora of instruments into his productions and live performances.
