United We Stream Asia turns to Malaysia with a panel at Get Wired
The Malaysian invasion comes coupled by two streams from KL
United We Stream Asia is shaking things up a bit this week by announcing a partnership with Get Wired, an innovative two-day byte-sized music conference that includes keynote interviews, informative panels, riveting conversations through networking, masterclasses and more. This virtual conference will be paired with two DJ streams from Malaysia.
As part of Get Wired, United We Stream Asia will host a panel on activating change to save club culture. It will take place on July 16 from 6.30pm to 7.00pm (GMT+8). See the programme below:
Streams this week are also coming from Malaysia with a Tuesday night affair going down at Iron Fairies KL and Jiro on Sunday. See the programme for Tuesday below and Sunday following shortly.
Last week saw streams from South Korea and before that Thailand, Singapore and Vietnam. Watch a stream from OXA Beach Club in Thailand below:
United We Stream Asia just finished its first round of collections and raised a total of $10,000 to #saveclubcultureasia. It might sound like a good sum, but more is needed in a region where government support has been non-existent and clubs, venues and DJs are struggling to survive the pandemic.
All funds raised go into a fund set up on GoGetFunding and will eventually be returned to the music community in Asia. For an understanding of how the funds raised are being divided, check here.
United We Stream Asia is a partnership between ClubbingTV, ARTE Concert, Clubcommission Berlin, Homeaway Agency and Mixmag Asia, and has committed to uniting the music community’s efforts for recovery.
