The Pete Tong DJ Academy hands out scholarships to support aspiring DJs

Pete Tong is offering up the chance to learn all about DJing and the electronic music industry from top names in the game — for free.

The Pete Tong DJ academy, which is also co-founded by Carl Cox, is a series of online courses that was announced during last year’s International Music Summit (IMS) Ibiza.

Tutors of the courses include some of the most highly regarded names in electronic music such as Jamie Jones, Nicole Moudaber, TSHA and The ReLOUD (in addition to Tong and Cox themselves).

From shaping the mindset it takes to succeed to preparing the perfect set up and down to DJ etiquette and more, the academy provides over 90 lessons for their students to dive into.

In late February, the acclaimed producer announced the Pete Tong Academy Scholarship program in a YouTube video, where he also mentions how the student base of his DJ academy now spans 55 countries across the globe.

Each teacher has been given a chance to award the scholarship to “the most inspiring students of their choosing.”

“I’ll also be awarding places to those of you that give the most compelling statements of intent during the application process,” Tong adds.

Ten aspiring DJs will be chosen to join the academy and receive exclusive opportunities and know-how on the industry from their esteemed tutors.

The scholarship is part of the academy’s Future Talent Awards — an initiative where 10 students are given the chance to attend IMS Ibiza and one will be given the title PTDJA Future Talent.
