Taste of Blue returns after studio fire with label’s first release
The Hong Kong-based artist channels renewal through music, with an original track by Domina plus a remix out via Prion Era
After his studio was tragically destroyed in a fire in Hong Kong earlier this year, Taste of Blue returns with a powerful debut release on his new label, Prion Era, along with fellow producer Domina.
The artist, who recently closed out The Mixmag Lab Hong Kong, lost his studio space, production equipment, and all files for upcoming projects in the blaze, marking a devastating setback.
Now, he’s back with Prion Era’s first release: a two-track single featuring Domina’s ‘Red Beach’ alongside a Taste of Blue remix. Despite being a debut, it’s a statement first release; gritty, emotional, and full of intent.
Taste of Blue’s remix of ‘Red Beach’ is a raw, punchy rework layered with heavy percussion, a dark, cinematic atmosphere, and a standout guitar solo—a signature element he often brings to his live sets.

Domina’s original cut, meanwhile, leans into groove-heavy house with sleek, rolling rhythms and an undercurrent of urgency designed to move the floor. Both renditions complement the other effortlessly, despite living in different spheres.

This marks the beginning of an ambitious journey for Prion Era, which plans to release a new single every month.
The label’s guiding ethos, “Broken & Reform”, aims to unite artists from diverse backgrounds to co-create sounds that push beyond conventional boundaries.
