Rainbow Disco Club heads to Goa this weekend
Organisers Don't Forget to Go Home & artists describe the event as a chance to "connect Asian music communities" & "reclaim regional narratives"
Japan’s Rainbow Disco Club (RDC) celebrates 16 years of musical legacy this August 15 and 16 at BudXLof Goa, in collaboration with local dancefloor collective Don’t Forget To Go Home (DFTGH).
Coinciding with India’s independence weekend, RDC Goa will host a two-day, 30-hour event across three stages: Main Room, Terrace, and Analogue.
Goa, long regarded as a destination for free thinkers—from the spiritual communities of the 1970s to the rave culture of the 1990s—provides a fitting backdrop for Rainbow Disco Club’s ethos: “Beyond Space and Time.”
The event marks a milestone for both organisers: it is RDC’s debut in India’s underground music scene and DFTGH’s first long-format production.
RDC positions the gathering as more than just a party, framing it as a bridge between cultures and continents. Local artist Zokhuma shares: “It's a great way of connecting the Asian community and joining the dots from India to Thailand, Japan, and Vietnam.”

For RDC, the Goa edition offers an opportunity not only to enter the South Asian music landscape but also for “building relationships with DJs and people in Goa.”
The collaboration was made possible through local partners AAGUU and Vishaka Karanth of DFTGH, who approached RDC directly after meeting them at a festival in Asia.

“Bringing RDC to Goa has been a deeply fulfilling journey—one rooted in the belief that our stories deserve to be told by us, not filtered through a Western lens,” says DFTGH co-founder Vishaka Karanth to Mixmag Asia.
“At its heart, this is about reclaiming narrative, celebrating Asian voices in Asia, and creating space for our culture to be experienced as it truly is: vibrant, complex, and unapologetically our own.”
For New Delhi-based FILM, RDC in Goa “marks a powerful moment of cross-cultural exchange between two vibrant scenes” and believes that bringing them together under one roof “is bound to spark creativity, connection, and excitement.”
