New Taipei record store Slipped Disk opens this week
The Da’an Park vinyl spot pairs curated crates with beer, listening stations & a nod to old-school pain relief culture
A new record store is opening its doors in Taipei this week.
Tucked near Da’an Park, Slipped Disk is the brainchild of Heaven to Me founders Jason aka Baloney B and Jacob aka Lemonfacer, two DJs and promoters deeply rooted in the city’s scene and music culture.
Known for their sharp curation and international connections, the two have been key players behind parties at FINAL and have helped bring acts like DJ Plead, Tzusing, and Daria Lourd to Taiwan’s dancefloors.
They’ve also built strong ties with local heavyweights like GLOWBALL Festival founder Sonia Calico and Over My Body's B E N N.
Slipped Disk as their new project leans into that same ethos of community-building and sound exploration.
Open from Wednesdays to Sundays, the name is somewhat a nod to DJ culture, referencing slip-cueing techniques, hours spent crate digging, and the inevitable backaches that come with it. But there’s another layer to it.

The store’s Chinese motto, “樂到病除,” riffs on the phrase “藥到病除” (meaning “medicine cures the illness”), swapping out “medicine” for “music”.
Slipped Disk’s visual identity builds on this theme, borrowing the colour schemes and typography of traditional pain relief patches found in Taiwan and Japan.

The space specialises in second-hand electronic records, rare dance gems, and global oddities picked up during the owners’ travels, featuring a listening station for crate diggers and a mini bar serving local craft beers from 23 Brewery.
Beyond vinyl, Slipped Disk plans to host listening parties, workshops and talks, positioning itself as a cultural hub for the local scene.
The venue will host a private launch on August 6 with six DJs on the line-up, before opening to the public on August 7.
