New record store & creative hub MERAKI opens in Saigon this weekend
“A space where like-minded people and music lovers can gather to create, share, and connect.”
Saigon has a new home for crate diggers, creatives, and audiophiles alike.
Enter MERAKI [pronounced mA-’rak-E], a record store and cultural space where underground electronic music intersects with streetwear, visual art, exhibitions, and independent lifestyle.
The store’s carefully curated vinyl selection spans electro, techno, house, ambient, jazz, disco, and leftfield, sitting alongside limited-edition fashion pieces and a rotating showcase of visual art.
Positioned as a creative hub for the city’s community, MERAKI champions all facets of underground culture; from sound to style to space.
Guests can explore records while sipping a coffee in the art-infused café corner or unwind with a beer on the laid-back terrace.
Speaking on the space, co-founder Nic Desnuages mentioned to Mixmag Asia: “Seeing a vision I’ve carried for years finally come to life—a project born from the desire to build a space where like-minded people and music lovers can gather to create, share, and connect.”
He continues, “It’s more than just a venue or an event—it’s where sound meets soul. A living, breathing community that thrives on curiosity, collaboration, and meaningful exchange.”
MERAKI opens its doors this Friday, July 11, 2025, with a soft launch featuring live music on the terrace from 3pm to 10pm, with sets by Desnuages, Dotadeo, MLiR, and Mr. Eko.
