New Singapore venue Earworm launches this weekend

Earworm, a new space from the team behind Offtrack, opens at 16 North Canal Road in Singapore on Friday, October 9.

The space has three zones: an open frontage wrapped around the street corner, a communal nook at the back, and a main room that hosts dining, live music and weekend DJ sets.

Design-wise, it takes the warmth of a classic diner-pub and gives it a contemporary, music-led treatment. Warm timber, deep red ceramic tiles, textured lime-plaster walls and plush upholstery make up the main palette, with stainless steel details and music-themed graphics as accents.

On the menu, expect familiar pub fare with an Asian twist, including snacks and sharing plates. Drinks cover classic cocktails with small variations, tap beers and a short selection of natural wines.

Music runs through the week; Wednesdays go to local live musicians doing improvised jams and original material, while on the weekends, DJs will soundtrack the early dinner hours and all through the night.

Earworm is set to open on Friday, October 9. Though RSVPs have been fully redeemed, walk-ins are welcome from 11PM onwards.

Maft Sai, founder of Thailand’s Zudrangma Records, will kick things off at 8:45PM with records from around the world and rare grooves. Paradise Bangkok Molam International Band follow for an hour, as the first live band to play at Earworm.
