thisisneverthat & SURPLUS RESEARCH collaborate on line of reflective wearables
The Korean & Japanese brands have teamed up with GORE-TEX on a jacket, cap & special edition in-ear monitors
Korean creative collective and fashion label thisisneverthat along with Japanese experimental audio equipment brand SURPLUS RESEARCH have announced a collaborative project with GORE-TEX.
Launching October 10, the project looks at how functional materials can be used across a mix of different objects.
Clothing comes first; a GORE-TEX 3L jacket leads the line-up, and there's a cap to go with it.
In a 3L build, the outer fabric, the waterproof and breathable membrane and the inner lining of the jacket are bonded into one layer. You'll receive an original plush gecko charm (which is also reflective), but only if you purchase the jacket.

For the audio side, SURPLUS RESEARCH has made a special edition of its SR-002 in-ear monitor exclusively for thisisneverthat. It has a cord wrapped in reflective nylon and comes with its own pouch.

The project will be presented at the thisisneverthat Shibuya Flagship Store in Tokyo on October 10, with an event featuring sets by srp4s, 5harpy and DJ Soulscape.
Online sales are set to go live the same day on the thisisneverthat website.
