Kuala Lumpur’s Over & Above set to finally open this weekend

Kuala Lumpur’s scene is elevated with the highly anticipated grand launch of Over & Above, a new cutting-edge venue set to become a major player in Malaysia’s music scene.

Inspired by legendary clubs like Printworks and Berghain, this space is primed to deliver a next-level sensory experience, with a sleek industrial design and top-tier sound and visual systems.

Hosting up to 800 people, Over & Above is already establishing itself as a go-to haven for techno and house lovers in Malaysia, despite not being officially opened until this weekend.

Although the club has been active for a few months, the official grand opening promises an even bigger impact. October alone boasts an impressive roster with headliners like Estella Boersma, Danny Avila, and Layton Giordani.

The club’s resident DJs are equally noteworthy, with talents like VIENE, SEP, TEERA, CURZON, TCHUNO, and ANNJO.

Looking ahead, Over & Above aims to position itself as a key hub for house and techno not just in Malaysia, but across Asia. The team is committed to supporting the local scene by championing homegrown talent and working closely with regional promoters.

Despite the challenges Malaysia’s scene has faced with strict laws and policies, venues like Over & Above provide a beacon of hope for the future. It’s ambitious projects like these that allow the country’s thriving underground scene to keep pushing forward, and we’re excited to see the space bloom.
