Gero & Chateau Rouge headline Rewind x ALTER. Art Basel Hong Kong closing party
The Shanghai & Hong Kong collectives present a multi-floor event with DJ sets & a site-specific sound installation at Soho House
Shanghai’s ALTER. and Hong Kong’s Rewind are joining forces to present a definitive closing event for Art Basel in Hong Kong.
The two collectives will host the multi-floor programme at Soho House Hong Kong, combining DJ sets with a sound-based art installation.
Rewind x ALTER. x Art Basel Closing Party sits within a wider programme of nightlife and cultural gatherings across the city during Art Basel week, and will unfold across three floors of the venue and feature two primary performance spaces.
Scheduled for the final night of the international art fair on Saturday, March 28, the programme brings together artists working across club culture, sound and contemporary art.
Among the featured performers is Gero, a DJ originally from Jakarta who has become a regular presence in Bali’s underground music scene. He is a resident at Klymax Discotheque at Potato Head and has also made several appearances at Japan’s Rainbow Disco Club. Last December, he performed a back-to-back set with Sisi at Wonderfruit at the sunny Solar Village, right before Antal came to close out the festival.
Gero’s sets often move between rare-groove disco, house and deeper shades of techno, with a focus on long blends and carefully built dancefloor momentum.

The event will also feature a site-specific project by Lucas Lecacheur, who works under the name Chateau Rouge. Based in Paris, Lecacheur’s work sits between sound art and installation, often exploring how audio can shape the experience of physical space.
For the closing party, he will transform the venue’s Blue Room on the 26th floor into a dedicated listening environment, presenting a sound installation designed around the room’s acoustics and layout.
