Drunken Kong return to Tronic with Consciousness EP

Japanese techno stalwarts Drunken Kong, composed of DJ Kyoko and D. Singh, have been on a relentless release tear for 2021. In March they released the 'Phoenix' EP via Tronic and by April they had already hit us with the 'Dark Moon' EP via Terminal M. It was only April when we discussed their feverous release schedule following their EP on Terminal M, and that was without mentioning the slew of singles the duo had also released by that point.

Tronic has become a traditional home for Drunken Kong, with the duo releasing multiple EP's and two albums on Christian Smith's imprint. It should come as no surprise then that we bring news of Drunken Kong returning to the imprint with their latest EP 'Consciousness'.

The 'Consciousness' EP sees the Womb residents deliver four high-quality techno bangers. The titular track 'Consciousness' is a bass-line driven lead single that finds the duo at play with their melodic side. Meanwhile, 'Response', 'Take It' and 'Impact' find Drunken Kong in a flow state more attributed to raw industrial sounds with a jacking vibe to them.

Outside of their heavy productions schedule, Drunken Kong also host a resident party titled 'Intention' at world renowned Womb in Tokyo, having previously hosted artists including Christian Smith, Uto Karem, Nathan Barato, Arjun Vagale and Jewel-Kid. The event will proceed on August 21st with a full local line-up of Tokyo's best techno artists.

'Consciousness' EP was released on July 30th and is available for purchase via Beatport here
