Circoloco Ibiza state they were informed “only the evening before” India debut was cancelled

Circoloco’s India debut was cancelled on Sunday, April 19, hours before gates were set to open at Jio World Garden in Mumbai, as announced by local organisers Xora World on Instagram.

The show had been scheduled to run from 2PM to 10PM, with a line-up featuring Mau P, Chris Stussy, Jamback, ANSWER, and a back-to-back set by Marco Carola and Michael Bibi.

As stated and shown in the announcement post, the venue had already been set up, and all teams and artists had arrived in the city by the time the cancellation was announced.

They clarified that the decision stemmed from updated regulatory protocols and ungranted permits, despite months of planning having gone into the event.

“As organisers, we fully respect and must adhere to all government guidelines and decisions,” they wrote.

Refunds have been confirmed for all ticket holders and table guests.

Speaking to Mixmag Asia, Circoloco Ibiza stated “We were informed only the evening before the event,” adding that “The reasons are not yet clear.”

They continue: “The authorities’ behaviour appears unpredictable, based on what we currently understand. We are not planning to reschedule the show until the authorities provide a clear explanation for Circoloco’s cancellation. As far as we know, these cancellations may extend to other events in the coming months.”

Previously, GRAMMY winner Black Coffee’s performance in Goa on April 3 was also cancelled due to “unforeseen regulatory developments”.

Paresh Pahuja’s Mumbai leg of his India tour, which was supposed to take place on April 18, has been rescheduled to a later date; the singer stated this was due to a “recent event mishap” in the city.

Most recently, rapper French Montana’s first public, ticketed performance in India, which was scheduled for April 25, has also been cancelled.
