BEAM announces closure after almost a decade of events in Bangkok

BEAM has announced that it will close its doors on October 31, 2025, marking the end of nearly ten years at 72 Courtyard, with BEAMCUBE, its sister venue, following on November 29.

The 72 Courtyard compound has also announced that it will be closing by October 31, 2025.

Throughout its run, BEAM and BEAMCUBE has hosted international names while also giving space to Thailand’s homegrown artists.

In January 2025, BEAM reopened in collaboration with Mixmag Asia with a three-night series of events. The program featured Helena Hauff, Katimi Ai, Kova O’Sarin, Krit Morton, Mae Happyair, MUMSFILIBABA, Palms Trax, Suburb Sound, and TRANSPORT, bringing together international and local acts across electro, house, and left-field club sounds.

The space has also recently hosted ryota and the Pissawong Records fourth anniversary event.

Katsu, the venue below BEAM, has welcomed Shygirl’s Shy World takeover along with Mina & Bryte on their Asia tour, extending the range of sounds that have passed through the building.

BEAMCUBE, which launched in 2023 and is located ar Mahanakorn CUBE 6F, has hosted the likes of Paula Tape, Biliguudei, Bradley Zero, Eden Burns, a RASA takeover and a slew of other events.

The final month begins with BEAMCUBE hosting DJ Deep, Suze Ijó, Hidden Spheres, Sandy B, and the Bangkok Community Radio anniversary, while BEAM presents Changing Currents, Jamz Supernova, Kade & Co, Boink, and Sugar Rush Thai Dance.

The last week builds toward a double-headliner finale on Halloween, with names still to come, before BEAMCUBE continues through until its final night on November 29, 2025.

Speaking on how BEAM has impacted the scene in Bangkok, Tanika Wyachai (Head of Marketing) and Brent Burns (Music Director) mention to Mixmag Asia: "Over the past decade, BEAM has been a cornerstone of Bangkok’s creative and music landscape, and even made ripples regionally. We set out not just to create crazy parties, but to blend audio excellence with a visual and physical experience (our vibrating dancefloor) that was ahead of its time. Through this journey, we’ve been honoured to see talents grow, and be a part of the beginnings of local teams, collectives, and labels."

Tanika and Brent also convey a message to the community that has supported BEAM from the beginning: "To everyone who’s been part of our story: thank you, truly and deeply. The past decade has been an incredible ride, and we owe it all to the community that let us become a home for shared passions and moments of self expression. Whether you came to lose yourself on the dancefloor or to find a piece of who you are, you made BEAM what it is."

"Please know that this isn’t goodbye. It’s a promise that the spirit we built together will live on in new ways. We’re endlessly grateful to every artist, producer, customer, dancer, designer, bartender, vendor, and friend who walked this path with us. You made this chapter possible, and we can’t wait to see where the next one leads," they add.
