Airtime Asia brings together the region’s independent radio community in Vietnam this August
A four-day programme of music, panels & cross-regional exchange in Da Nang & Hội An, featuring Ken Ishii & Red Pig Flower's Vietnam debuts
Airtime Asia is coming to Da Nang and Hội An this August, bringing together independent radio platforms from across the continent for a four-day festival and conference.
With hopes of continuing into an ongoing series, this first edition is hosted by Da Nang Community Radio.
Running August 13–16, 2026, the event spreads across 15+ venues in Da Nang and the historic town of Hội An, with 20+ events featuring 40+ artists, broadcasters, labels, and cultural practitioners.
The line-up spans DJs, label showcases, panel discussions, and workshops, all centred around the underground radio ecosystem that has been quietly building scenes across Asia for years.
The festival opens on Thursday evening with an arrival party before expanding into a full district takeover on Friday night, where 12 participating radio stations each programme their own stage block across An Thuong Quarter. It's a rare opportunity to experience so many distinct regional scenes in one place, across one night.

On the artist side, Ken Ishii and Red Pig Flower both make their Vietnam debuts, headlining the Togetherness Party in Hội An. Red Pig Flower will also lead a workshop on gender and inclusivity in dance music.
Also performing as headliners are Vietnam’s own Linh Ku and Miami’s Juan Mejia.
Julie Marghilano (Sol Asylum, Berlin) closes out the festival on Sunday, with further sets from Ocean Lam, UN!X, J. Gabriel, and Matthew Nolan of Detroit Techno Militia, who has been based in Saigon for six years.

The daytime programming is equally as engaging and shouldn’t be missed.
Speakers include Abhi Meer on DJ culture and third spaces, Sok Visal of KlapYaHandz debuting his Artist Sovereignty System, and Jane Slingo of EMC Australia and VibeLab APAC leading a private roundtable for radio founders on independent broadcasting strategy.
Record label showcases from Thang Long Records, KlapYaHandz Cambodia, Shanked Douc Records, MegaScritch Records, and others run alongside beach sessions at Simple Beach Tien Sa, a morning rave in Da Nang, and a sunset dinner nestled in the Hội An rice fields.
