VibeLab launches The Nighttime Foundation to support nightlife communities worldwide

The Nighttime Foundation, a new global non-profit organisation, officially launched on September 25 with the mission of connecting nightlife enthusiasts, creators, industry networks, and governments worldwide.

By bridging these groups, it also aims to empower the people who shape nightlife and ensure its long-term vitality.

The foundation is an initiative of VibeLab, the consultancy co-founded by nightlife advocates Mirik Milan, Amsterdam’s former Night Mayor, and Lutz Leichsenring of the Berlin Club Commission.

Their years of work in nightlife advocacy inspired the creation of a platform to expand community voices and influence policy.

“From fire circles to dancefloors, nightlife has always been where humanity gathers to connect, create, and belong,” says Kae Burke, co-founder of New York’s House of Yes and Secretary of the foundation.

The organisation is led by a team with deep expertise across culture and policy.

Chair Dr. Anna-Marazuela Kim is an advisor on culture in cities, working across academia, architecture, and non-profits, Treasurer Georgia McDonnell-Adams brings decades of brand strategy experience, and Head of Projects Kerronia Thomas focuses on inclusive policy and night culture.

A survey done by the foundation, drawing on insights from over 100 nightlife professionals and advocates, revealed strong demand for practical resources. Nearly three-quarters (73%) called for best practice toolkits, while 68% identified both policy advocacy and professional networking as priorities.

“We're living in times of conservative policies, and nightlife remains one of the last social bastions for cultural expression; it needs constant support and strengthening,” adds Milan.
