UMAMI marks two years of dancefloor community with X CLUB. & Darby

UMAMI will celebrate its two-year anniversary on Monday, October 6, 2025, with a special showcase at Pier 1929 in Wan Chai.

Coinciding with the Mid-Autumn Festival, the event will feature international headliners X CLUB., known for their relentless techno sets, and Australian producer Darby, who has garnered support from Skrillex and Disclosure.

The showcase will feature a bespoke 360-degree stage design and run from 10pm to 5am.

Founded in 2023, UMAMI began with a clear vision: breaking down the barrier between DJ and audience to create a unified dancefloor.

Over the past 24 months, that idea has grown into a platform that supports Hong Kong’s underground electronic music culture.

Previously the crew has hosted a Clockenflap afterparty and invited a slew of top-tier artists from a variety of genres such as GRAMMY-winning MC Flowdan, Manuka Honey, Bianca Oblivion, Nash and Conducta.

More recently, UMAMI partnered with Mixmag Asia to bring the iconic global series, The Mixmag Lab, to Hong Kong, showcasing 30 artists across two days for a harbourfront takeover at Pier 1929.

“Reaching this two-year milestone is a testament to the community that has supported UMAMI from the beginning. The anniversary is a moment of celebration for the shared experiences, from packed dancefloors to the collective energy that defines an UMAMI event,” the crew explain.

The crew has built a reputation for immersive parties, collaborative projects with local brands, and carefully curated line-ups that have become a consistent presence in the city’s nightlife.

With a strategy that consistently pairs homegrown talent with global names, they give Hong Kong artists a chance to connect with the international scene.

“Our next challenge is to propel local artists onto the international stage. By bringing in world-class producers, DJs, and label owners, we bridge the gap, making it easier for local talent to be seen and heard by influential figures in the industry.”
