Bang & Olufsen launch limited edition collaboration with Fragment

Bang & Olufsen has released a limited edition collection in collaboration with Tokyo-based creative imprint, Fragment.

The collection covers four products, each finished in Fragment's characteristic monochrome aesthetic; black anodised surfaces, contrasting white logos, and restrained detailing throughout.

Fragment was founded by Hiroshi Fujiwara, widely credited as the godfather of streetwear. Since 2004, it has operated as a collaborative design studio working across fashion, music, technology, and pop culture.

Fujiwara came to this project not merely as an outside collaborator, but as a long-time listener of thirty-five years with Bang & Olufsen.

The Beoplay H100 headphones receive full monochrome treatment with high-gloss black anodised surfaces, black leather on the headband and cushions, with contrasting white logos, and the Beosound A1 portable speaker follows the same finish, marked with Fragment's double lightning bolt insignia on top.

For those interested in room acoustics and speaker configuration, the Beosound Shape is the most hands-on piece. After visiting Bang & Olufsen's headquarters in Struer, Denmark, Fujiwara sketched a “flower” configuration for the modular wall speaker system, fitted with monochrome fabric covers.

The standout for collectors is the Beosystem 9000c; a CD player that drew Fujiwara in for a specific reason.

“I found the mechanism fascinating. The CDs are automatically swapped, and after playback, the disc returns to its original position. It’s the kind of idea no one else would think of,” he explains. Paired with Beolab 28 speakers in matching black anodised finish, this item is limited to Japan as a made-to-order setup.

The entire collection will be available for purchase in early June; sign up to get notified here.
