TANVI plays with techno, trip-hop, garage, electronica & more in '01100001'

India-born, New York City-based experimental producer TANVI returns with her latest EP, '01100001'.

Although grounded in the ethereal realms of techno, the project weaves elements of trip-hop, garage, jungle, pop and electronica, all tied together with TANVI's mesmerising vocal performances and intricate soundscapes.

The title, '01100001', which translates to 'u & i' in binary, encapsulates themes of love and longing that resonate throughout the three tracks.

'Say You Want Me' grabs you with its dreamy pop essence with soft, tender vocals; 'Mine' starts out as a jungle-infused stomper before boldly transitioning into a rich yet wildly different closer; and our pick, 'Gauzz', is centred around UKG.

'Gauzz' takes the ethereal pop sounds TANVI excels in on the other two tracks and melds them with the vibrant energy from garage. The track's full-bodied texture, coupled with impeccable production quality, showcases TANVI's attention to detail, with synth melodies harmonising seamlessly with hearty 808s.
