ATARASHII GAKKO! dance into 'The Tiger's Apprentice' OST with 88rising

ATARASHII GAKKO!’s newest single ‘HELLO’ is one of the six tracks to be included in the OST of ‘The Tiger's Apprentice', out via label 88rising.

HELLO’ is a catchy number that features greetings in multiple languages such as German, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese and English.

‘The Tiger's Apprentice’ animated film features a majority Asian cast such as Michelle Yeoh, Henry Golding, Leah Lewis, Sandra Oh, Lucy Liu and more.

The six-track soundtrack additionally highlights talent from the Asian diaspora, comprising ZHU, Audrey Nuna, Cacien, Derek Dali, Sayak Das and ATARASHII GAKKO! themselves.

The J-pop girl group, ATARASHII GAKKO! has been crawling up the ranks with many unique releases and unconventional music videos since 2015. Derived from the Japanese translation of ‘new school’, ATARASHII GAKKO! is a quartet of girls that consist of Suzuka, Kanon, Rin and Mizyu, who consistently sport schoolgirl outfits aka “sailor-fuku” and do not quite fit the status quo of what is expected from typical girl groups or females in Japan.

Their eccentric and energetic attitude packs a punch in their music videos as the girls showcase their unique dance moves, funny skits and quirks.

The group previously released the music video for ‘Toryanse’, inspired by a Japanese nursery song that talks about finding your own path in life. In Japan, the traditional song is also played at traffic lights to let kids know it's safe to cross the street.

In the music video, the girls showcase their quirky dance moves against the background which is consistent with the Edo era, aligning with the timeless essence of the traditional song that dates back to centuries ago. Watch 'Toryanse' below.

The girls have also blown their way through international stages with appearances on the Jimmy Kimmel Live! Show, Head In The Clouds Music & Arts Festival, plus their first worldwide SEISHUN Tour and more.

In December, they graced the stages of Clockenflap and Maho Rasop; they've also been selected for slots at this year's Coachella and Primavera Sound.
