T5UMT5UMU has recently unveiled his latest four-track EP ‘Alter Decoy’, showcasing a mesmerising blend of experimental tribal rhythms and daring sample usage.
From start to finish, ‘Alter Decoy’ immerses listeners in a captivating soundscape of percussion, chopped vocal samples, and live instruments, creating an undeniably animalistic and primal EP experience.
T5UMT5UMU fearlessly explores his creativity on this EP, giving each track its unique focus and narrative. ‘Troop Of Apes’ stands out with its relentless, rolling energy, adorned with subtle nuances contributing to its full-bodied charm. On the other hand, ‘Territory’ takes a different approach, stripping down the elements to the core, allowing the mesmerising percussion and off-kilter vocal samples to take centre stage.
Title track ‘Alter Decoy’ sets the tone with its rhythmic fusion of distorted percussion, sampled vocal chops, and powerful hard drums. The strategically placed kicks, dancing in a triplet rhythm, inject a sense of urgency and speed. The track ingeniously blends hard techno and complex drum elements, all brought together by in-your-face aggressive vocals.
