Super Casual Hangout event in Bali merges music, art & Web3

On August 21, Noema Resort in Pererenan will host Super Casual Hangout, an event that merges creative culture with blockchain technology.

Organised by Bali-based collective Super Casual, the gathering will combine panels, collaborative art, and DJ sets in what they call “a full-day creative collision between the URL and IRL, powered by the blockchain.”

Super Casual emerged from Bali’s creative scene as a decentralised community of artists, designers, and technologists experimenting with how Web3 can open new spaces for creation and connection.

“This event is a reflection of that. From the open panel discussions to the collaborative art stations, we’re designing every part to be participatory, decentralised, and creatively chaotic,” mentions Super Casual representative Dewie Ang.

Past events done by Super Casual include the Art Jakarta Gardens afterparty the and the Visinema IP meet-up.

Programming for Super Casual Hangout begins with What the Hell is Crypto & Why Should Creatives Care?, a talk by Jagad Marcelleno of Myceliumnetwork.io, aimed at making Web3 accessible for artists and cultural workers.

A fireside chat, How Decentralization Can Disrupt the Gatekeepers of Art, follows with Katerina Francesca, Kanoko Takaya, and Agugn discussing blockchain’s potential to reshape ownership, visibility, and artistic value.

“Blockchain opens up ways for artists to publish music, mint exclusive works, and collaborate without relying on middlemen,” says Dewie. “It makes sure that underground, emerging, and diverse voices can sustain themselves and get recognised.”

The night will be soundtracked by a mix of Web2 and Web3 DJs including Bagvs, Kiwed (aka Dewie Ang herself), Gato Latex, Sattle, and Faktta.

“Some of our performers have minted music on-chain, some are deep in rave culture but couldn’t care less about NFTs, and that’s the point. Music culture has always been hybrid and messy and experimental,” Dewie notes.

Beyond the decks, attendees can take part in collaborative art, co-created visuals, and open networking.

As Dewie puts it: “collaboration doesn’t always start with a smart contract; sometimes it starts with a beer.”
