DJ, producer, and mentor Rummy Sharma has played a pivotal role in promoting Indian electronic music on the world stage, becoming a key ambassador for the sound of the subcontinent.

As the founder of The Bootcamp Goa, he’s created a unique platform dedicated to nurturing the next generation of electronic music talent.

The camps offer aspiring artists hands-on experience in music production, performance, and artist management, while providing access to renowned mentors from across the globe.

Collaborating with top industry players, The Bootcamp Goa aims to bridge the gap between new talent and established professionals. The program not only helps students hone their skills but also offers them the opportunity to perform at high-profile events, which is instrumental in shaping their careers.

This year, Sharma returned to Berlin’s techno stage after 18 years, bringing The Bootcamp Goa to Rave The Planet 2024, the successor to the iconic Love Parade.

On August 17, he introduced the ‘3iS - The Bootcamp Goa’ project, showcasing a new wave of talent. The float, co-hosted by Riverside Studios Berlin, featured five standout students from The Bootcamp Goa and 3iS Education France, performing alongside top names like Namito, Tobi Neumann, 8Kays, Sasse, Bullzeye, Master, Riverside Studios founder Martin Eyerer and Rummy Sharma himself.

"I just want to provide platforms and education to the younger ones, that my generation did not have access to. Also, I feel the youth in India are hungry to succeed but do not have access to the technology, guidance and network to be on the international stage. The Bootcamp Goa is determined to do it for them," Rummy explains.

Drawing over 380,000 ravers, the event offered these students an unprecedented platform to showcase their skills, reinforcing The Bootcamp Goa’s mission to cultivate new talent. The occasion was particularly significant, as it also honoured Berlin Techno's recent recognition as a UNESCO cultural heritage, further elevating the city's status as a global hub for electronic music.

The Bootcamp Goa will kick off its third season on September 16. This season will also mark the first-ever Rave The Planet India tour, featuring performances by Dr. Motte, Saytek Live, Rummy Sharma, Dave Seaman, and more mentors and alumni.

Among those to be added to the list of mentors for The Bootcamp Goa Season 3 are techno pundit Arjun Vagale along with Resul Pookutty, who won the Academy Award for Best Sound Mixing for his work in the film Slumdog Millionaire.

The upcoming season promises to continue expanding The Bootcamp’s global influence while offering fresh opportunities for emerging electronic artists.
