Prolight + Sound trade fair makes Southeast Asia debut in Bangkok
160+ exhibitors from nine countries & regions are set to showcase pro audio, lighting & stage tech from September 30 to October 2
Prolight + Sound Bangkok, the first edition of the trade fair in Southeast Asia, will run from September 30 to October 2 at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC).
Jointly organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd and VNU Asia Pacific, it follows the Prolight + Sound editions in Frankfurt and Guangzhou.
More than 160 exhibitors from nine countries and regions are taking part, including China, France, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Singapore, Switzerland, Thailand and the UK, with an expected attendance of over 5,000 trade visitors.
“The debut of Prolight + Sound Bangkok marks an exciting new chapter for Prolight + Sound as the brand expands into ASEAN. We are drawing on Messe Frankfurt’s global network and the brand’s extensive resources to connect world-class brands with Southeast Asia’s vibrant entertainment, events and music markets,” states Ms Judy Cheung, Deputy General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd.
She continues: “With this launch, we are establishing a new international platform that brings professional AV technologies to the fore and strengthens collaboration across the entertainment industry.”

The show floor covers pro audio, lighting, stage equipment, LED displays and pro AV. A new Musical Instruments & Gear Zone features Bangkok-based Tycoon Percussion, founded in 1983, and FLYKEYS, the digital instrument brand under Pearl River Piano.
Alongside the exhibition, there will be a fringe programme that covers a range of topics. Sessions look at audio networking for live sound, the direction of entertainment events across ASEAN, and how Thai universities can prepare graduates for stage and production careers.

Also part of the programme is the ASEAN Pro AVL Friendship Meeting that will bring together leading industry associations from across the region. Exhibitors and visitors can meet representatives from Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand and Singapore to network, hear about regional market developments and explore future collaboration.
Other highlights include a Sound Healing Workshop, a Live Music Spotlight with instrumental performances, and an interactive drum circle.
