Peels Records & Bar announces debut three-city India tour in October
The Bandung label & listening bar lands in Mumbai, Delhi & Goa, with tour merch dropping ahead of the first date
Peels Records & Bar will travel to India for the first time this October, teaming up with Arcade Social Club for a three-city tour across one week.
Opened in Bandung in 2021 as a record store, sound room and cocktail bar inside a restored Dutch colonial heritage building, the space relaunched earlier this year after a renovation with local studio Nouv, introducing more wood, a rebuilt stainless-steel bar and DJ booth, and a light installation by artist Arin Sunaryo.
The India tour, dubbed Night Train, kicks off in Mumbai on October 14 at Nami, a new hi-fi bar in the city. It continues on October 16 at Auro, one of Delhi's longstanding venues, before closing in Goa on October 17 at Juna.
Speaking on how the collaboration came about, Peels owner Fritz Yonathan explains: “The initial connection came through a tour that Arcade Social Club had previously done with Bar Bon Funk. Bar Bon Funk already had a relationship with Peels, having hosted an exchange between them, and through that shared connection, the idea of bringing Peels to India started to take shape. From there, things just developed naturally through existing friendships and connections.”
He adds: "We've actually never been to India before, so for us there's a lot of curiosity and excitement around this trip. It feels like India is at a really interesting point right now, with growing interest in the music, nightlife, food and hospitality coming from there."
