Norsicaa brings her eclectic groove to Asia this month

DJ, curator, and selector extraordinaire Norsicaa is set to embark on her Asia tour throughout the rest of February, bringing her blend of global grooves, disco-funk, and deep cuts to venues and radio stations across the region.
With a background rooted in live instrumentation and an expansive record collection, Norsicaa (real name Alice Whittington) found her true calling behind the decks, curating sounds that transcend borders.
Her years at the revered Sounds of the Universe record store and later as General Manager of Soundway Records have shaped her unparalleled taste, overseeing 110+ vinyl releases.
She has played alongside heavyweights like DJ Harvey, Marcellus Pittman, and Colleen Murphy, while her sought-after mixes for My Analog Journal, Phonica Records, and The Vinyl Factory cement her reputation as a tastemaker with an ear for rare and forgotten gems.

Her latest project, ‘Ayo Ke Disco: Boogie, Pop & Funk from the South China Sea (1974-88)’, is a deep dive into Southeast Asia’s rich musical history, spotlighting disco-funk and city pop rarities from Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and the Philippines.
This meticulously curated compilation, released in October last year via Soundway Records, is accompanied by a zine offering historical insights, interviews, and archival treasures.
