Mixmag Asia presents Circuits—a new tour series celebrating Asia's underground sounds
The series kicks off this month with events in Singapore & Manila, championing the venues, artists & scenes we hold dear
Mixmag Asia is excited to announce our latest ongoing series: Circuits.
Circuits brings together two dynamic artists from across Asia for a multi-stop tour across some of our favourite venues in the region.
With Circuits, we’re spotlighting trailblazers in their respective scenes—artists who are shaping Asia’s underground music culture—and we’re here to amplify their influence.
Every two months, we’ll curate a line-up of two artists whose sounds and styles complement one another, showcasing their talents while celebrating the vibrant spaces and communities that define Asia’s music scenes.
To kick things off, we’re spotlighting the rising influence of UK-centric sounds across Asia, starting in Singapore on January 24 and Manila on January 25.
Rafiki—the Mumbai-based mastermind behind the ever-exciting Krunk—has been pivotal in India’s underground scene. With 2024 marking his biggest year to date, Rafiki saw his label expand globally and elevated his festivals to new heights. Named one to watch by Mixmag, Rafiki is poised to make 2025 his biggest year yet.
Joining him is Mixmag Asia’s own Mengzy, a Hong Kong-based DJ, promoter, and musicologist with a PhD in her craft. As the co-founder of Feed The Dragon and a regular name on the lineups of top-tier events like Keep Hush, Rinse, and Wonderfruit, Mengzy has become synonymous with quality bass, breaks, UKG, and techno across Southeast Asia.
With UK-inspired sounds currently taking over Asia, they’re the perfect pairing to lead our first Circuits tour.
Singapore's Behind The Green Door has quickly become a key spot in the city's music scene, hosting names like Ahadadream, Jimi Jules, and Amine K. With a top-tier soundsystem, vibrant energy, and strong community vibes, it's the ultimate Circuits destination.
Nokal in Manila is a key hub for the Philippines' underground music scene. Celebrating local talent and hosting top international acts, it reflects Circuits' community spirit. As one of Asia's most exciting venues, its collaborations with regional promoters and artists make it an ideal partner for this launch.
Stay tuned as Circuits continues to bridge the gap between scenes, sounds, and communities across Asia.
