Nicki Minaj loses top spot on Billboard chart to P-pop group SB19
The group becomes the first Filipino act in history to debut at No.1 on Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales chart

Filipino pop or P-pop group SB19 has made history with their latest single ‘DAM’, which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales chart—a first for any act from the Philippines.
In doing so, they edged out none other than Nicki Minaj, whose new release ‘Eskimo’ with Trinidad Killa debuted at No. 2.
This marks the fifth top 10 hit on this chart for Minaj, who previously topped it twice—first in 2018 with K-pop group BTS on ‘Idol’, and again in 2020 with Mr. Eazi, Major Lazer, and K4MO on ‘Oh My Gawd’.
According to Forbes, Minaj has never had a song chart lower than No. 2, which makes SB19’s win all the more remarkable as they prevented her from earning a third No. 1 on the tally.
According to Luminate, ‘DAM’ sold just under 1,200 copies in the past tracking week, enough to lead the chart but falling short of Billboard’s main Digital Song Sales chart, where the lowest-ranking entry sold around 1,800 copies.

This marks SB19’s second entry on the World Digital Song Sales chart following 2023’s ‘Gento’, which peaked at No. 8.

Beyond the U.S., ‘DAM’ has made an international impact—debuting at No. 4 on both the Official Singles Sales and Official Singles Downloads charts in the UK, while also breaking into the Top 12 on the Official MENA Chart and No. 21 on New Zealand’s Aotearoa Music Chart, as reported by GMA Network.
The track’s music video is about to reach 15 million views on YouTube, further proof of the group's dedicated global fanbase.
‘DAM’ is the first taste of SB19’s upcoming EP ‘Simula at Wakas’, due April 25, with a concert tour kicking off May 31 at the Philippine Arena.
