MYRNE ventures into new thematic territories on latest single ‘Desire’ featuring Joy Alexis
“It’s really easy to stay within your comfort zone, which is why active collaboration is important.”
Following his recent EP ‘Circles’, MYRNE released a brand new single titled ‘Desire’ on June 17 produced in collaboration with Singaporean singer-songwriter Joy Alexis.
‘Desire’ resounds garage-house sensibilities that escort the echo of Alexis’ singular vocals. MYRNE displays his expanded vision in music through the 2-step rhythms that form the foundation of the track. Listeners are then brought to soaring emotional heights as Alexis sings the saccharine lyrics.

The words were conjured up from the experience of both artists, specifically within the realm of uncertainty. They explore how to deliver the feeling of “push-and-pull” tension of infatuated individuals who are already burdened by indecision.
This theme is one that MYRNE has yet to explore in his productions, making the collaboration even more exciting for him. “It’s really easy to stay within your comfort zone, which is why active collaboration is important,” he elaborates.
Through this musical partnership, MYRNE sought the opportunity to elevate his skills in songwriting, traverse brand new themes, and even gain a new life lesson; “Life is too short to hesitate,” he affirms. “Feelings are feelings, not thoughts, so don’t think about them too much.”

Surprisingly, it only took the two a few hours to complete the entire song. While not all of us may believe in fate, this pair-up seems like it was destined from the get-go. In sync from the start, Alexis’ vocals effortlessly glide through MYRNE’s electronica adroitness with great finesse, bringing an added layer of introspection that pierces through the euphoric feel of the song.
“The part where Joy Alexis sings ‘Give in to your desire’ resonates with me the most, as the vocal transforms into that leitmotif you hear in choruses,” MYRNE says. That particular part falls in place so perfectly that he admittedly listens to it over and over.
