Molly Lin & Her Chen fuse elemental sounds with visual delight for ‘Kemistry’
The two artists unleash bold synergy in three tracks plus two videos in collaboration with Nebulosa
Plastic Toys has dropped ‘Kemistry’, an EP from Taiwanese power duo Molly Lin and Her Chen. The three tracks not only highlight the individual artistry of the two but also their unique synergy as collaborators.
The EP opens with Her Chen's ‘Fe,’ where intricate acid lines weave through ethereal atmospheres, creating a hypnotic and dynamic soundscape. The second track, ‘N₂O₄’ is a joint creation that pulses with energy, characterised by a straightforward groove, driving rhythm, and undeniable presence. The final track, ‘Si’ by Molly Lin, delivers a burst of groovy, breakbeat rhythms and funky elements, wrapping up the release with an infectious energy.
The clever play on elemental symbols in the track titles mirrors the spirit of the EP itself—‘Kemistry’ is more than just a name; it's a reflection of the transformative process between two artists. ‘Fe’ represents the strength and foundation of their collaboration, ‘N₂O₄’ embodies the explosive energy when they combine, and ‘Si’ captures the playful vibe that drives their creative fusion.
Accompanying the EP are two captivating music videos, made in collaboration with the Nebulosa collective.

This EP is not just a musical release; it's a celebration of friendship and artistic expression in Taiwan's burgeoning electronic music scene.
“This collaborated EP brings out our unique music tastes and styles, and shows there aren’t any boundaries to making music,” says Molly Lin. “The motivation behind the project is that I’m sitting in between underground and overground scenes, and some people have negative opinions about it. I just want to make something true to myself and show them I can do it.”
