Urdu disco gets a resurgence in Madboy Mink’s 'Faramosh'

Indian disco and electro-funk duo Madboy Mink—Saba Azad and Imaad Shah—have made a return and released their latest single ‘Faramosh’.

This track is a vibrant old-school Urdu disco heater and is the first release from their upcoming EP, marking their comeback after a few years of hiatus.

‘Faramosh’ seamlessly blends existential poetry with soulful vocals and an infectious disco groove, offering a fresh twist on a classic genre that’s rare to find in 2024, and we’re stoked to have it resurge.

The track's mood is contagious, with a bassline that burrows deep into your mind, making it nearly impossible to forget once you've heard it. Despite the non-English lyrics, the poetic vocals are irresistibly catchy making it that you’ll be humming for days.

Accompanying the track is an equally eccentric and surreal video, directed by the duo's own Saba Azad.

The video embraces the playful spirit of the song, bursting with in-your-face colours, horse masks, kitschy props, and quirky outfits that perfectly capture the track’s fun-loving energy. It toes the line with over-the-top cheesy but stands firmly on the right side.
