MO7 Recordings releases latest EP from Murcor, 'Blind Spots'

China-based drum’n’bass label MO7 Recordings has released the latest EP from its founder, Murcor, titled ‘Blind Spots’

Murcor’s innovative approach to d’n’b in the China scene has been turning heads, linking up with the UK’s Madrush MC on the EP.

The three-tracker exudes urgency throughout, yet diverges from the genre’s typical sound with a deeply layered, minimalistic approach, often highlighting subtleties that shine through its intricate production.

On the collaboration track ‘Set Trend’, Madrush MC's Flowdan-esque vocals take centre stage, paired with off-kilter percussion and quirky, yet fitting, elements.

The single opens with a bare-boned but steadily rising intro, accentuated by Madrush’s menacing lyrics, which evoke a sense of danger. While some drops in the track are daringly sparse, their unique and experimental nature makes them compelling.

For those after a more typical d’n’b floor-filler, ‘Anticipate’ is a more club-ready track, but still equipped with the typical Murcor flair in his minimalisticly stylish approach. The percussion is the star of the show, as it is on the whole EP.
