There's nothing shy about Meliha's elegant approach to dancefloor antics

Open minded with a positive and elegant outlook towards life and music, Meliha is a singer-songwriter, producer and DJ who has steadily and intrepidly strengthened the pillars that hold a career in music together.

The Malaysian artist has learned to channel her various nodes of influence into an acute path of groovy, lush, and emotive house music, with the occasional wilder tangent thrown in for that elevated excitement. On top of her releases with Malaysia-based labels like Soul de Anima and Sweatbox Records, she’s currently signed as an artist to sombre-toned imprint Anjunadeep with a growing stack of successful releases under her belt. Some of her highlighted productions include 'Say Hello' with Enamour which came out earlier this year, 'In The Wild' as well as 'Headspace' with Dee Montero which came out in 2018 and 2019. 'In The Wild' saw BBC 1 Radio plays from Pete Tong and was listed on his 2019 'Tracks of The Year' Playlist.

She’s been embedded in Kuala Lumpur’s club circuit for close to eight years now, working closely with other heroines in the city like RIMKA and LZZY, as well as other Sweatbox Records artists. Since the end of last year, she’s taken full advantage of the pandemic lull to immerse in her creative domain — “Towards the end of 2020, I got this wave of inspiration that sort of like kick-started my drive to make new music again and so with that there is a lot of new stuff in store from me which I’m looking forward to share soon in the months to come,” Meliha explains.

“It’s a bit hard to describe my music style at times because I listen to almost everything and I think it’s important to broaden the style of sounds that I let influence me. But most of the time, I like to try and be elegant with my sound. I really connect with music that has beautiful melodies, harmonies, strong rhythmic elements and that almost somber but uplifting indie vocals so that it reflects strongly onto my sound and the music I make.”
